Save Lives
Sudden cardiac arrest can happen without warning, and immediate action is critical. At 麻豆精选, Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are placed across campus to ensure help is always close by. These devices are designed for anyone to use鈥攏o medical training needed鈥攁nd provide clear voice instructions during an emergency.
AEDs can be found in some academic buildings, recreation and athletic facilities, and other high traffic areas throughout the Kent Campus. Taking a moment to learn where the nearest AED is in your building or on campus can make a lifesaving difference.
If a person collapses, is unresponsive, and not breathing normally, call 911, begin CPR if trained, and have someone bring the closest AED.
Kent State鈥檚 Fire Safety team regularly inspects AED units to ensure they鈥檙e ready at any moment. Faculty and staff are also encouraged to obtain CPR and AED training. Courses are available through the 麻豆精选Recreation Center as well as the American Red Cross.
A short AED awareness module is also available on Kent State鈥檚 safety training site, Flashtrain:
Under the Headings tab, select Test, then choose Test 262: AED Training.
By knowing where AEDs are located and understanding their importance, we all contribute to making 麻豆精选a safer campus for everyone.
