MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 -- SILENCING YOUR INNER CRITIC WORKSHOP

  • Does your inner critic need a mute button? In this CAPS workshop, learn how to quiet that inner critic and swap self-judgment for self-compassion. 
  • You'll discover simple, real-life strategies to handle daily stress with more kindness, and you'll leave with practical tools you can actually use. 
  • You'll also make your own mini painting to take home as a reminder to practice self-compassion. 
  • No artistic talent necessary! All supplies are provided by CAPS.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 -- DINNER WITH FRIENDS (VIRTUAL)

  • Dinner with Friends is a program hosted by Civic and Community Engagement in the Center for Student Involvement, 麻豆精选Votes, and Undergraduate Student Government that is designed to connect different members of our community鈥攕tudents, faculty, and staff鈥攖hrough engaging, facilitated conversations over dinner. 
  • The program鈥檚 core idea isn鈥檛 about being an expert on any given subject or even producing a plan at the end of the conversation but instead prioritizes the act of conversing and building connections with people you might not ordinarily meet. 
  • We'll spend the evening connecting and learning about each other鈥檚 experiences. 
  • The program will consist of four facilitated small group conversations, each of which will be lightly organized around one of four different topics that will be announced closer to the program date. 
  • In the past, topics have included responding to food insecurity, supporting mental health in challenging times, finding community on campus and beyond, and advancing environmental sustainability. 
  • Catered dinner provided. Registration is limited. Due to the nature of the program, participants must commit to being present for the entire event when registering.
