Studying for final exams wasn’t the only thing keeping nursing students busy on the East Liverpool Campus in recent weeks. The students also took time from their studies to help others from the community enjoy the holidays. The Student Nurses Association at Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡ East Liverpool spearheaded a project to help provide gifts for 105 local children through the Salvation Army. Located in Independence, Ohio, it is one of nine accredited podiatry colleges in the United States and is a four-year, graduate-level medical college, granting the degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡ at Salem held its fall Undergraduate Research Conference, an event that recognizes students for their research and allows them to share what they learned through discussions with the academic staff. The conference is open to all undergraduates in any discipline and in any for-credit course on any Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡campus. Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡ at Salem recently welcomed representatives from the Davey Tree Expert Company who presented scholarships to horticulture students Anna Detoro and Pamela Sears. Presenting the scholarships from Davey Tree were Mark Noark, manager of recruiting and training, and R. J. Laverne, manager of education and training. Each student received a $1,000 scholarship from the Davey Arbor Grant Foundation. The company annually awards 50 such scholarships throughout the U.
