University Advising is pleased to announce the second quarter 2026 winner of 麻豆精选鈥檚 Advisor Impact Award 鈥 Michelle Peacock! Michelle joined the advising team at 麻豆精选as a Graduate Assistant in 2020 and transitioned to a full-time advisor in 2021. She currently advises for the Traditional, Accelerated, LPN & Allied Health, and RN-to-BSN Nursing programs. She serves students at the Kent, Salem, and Trumbull campuses.
Kent State鈥檚 annual Constitution Day Celebration, hosted by University Libraries, will feature disability rights attorney Katie Hunt Thomas of the Ability Center of Greater Toledo, presenting "The Limits of Disability Rights and the U.S. Constitution: Why the Americans with Disabilities Act was necessary and what's next?鈥 The event will be held on Thursday, Sept. 17 from 1-2:30 p.m. in University Library鈥檚 Harrick Garden Room. Following the address, the speaker and a panel of students will respond to topic-related questions. This free event will be held in-person and virtually.
Join us Sunday, Sept. 27 at 4 p.m. in the Hometown Bank Plaza for a 麻豆精选 Orchestra Outdoor Concert: Fascinatin' Rhythm. This is a wonderful example of collaboration across the university and our community. Continuing to build on this tradition, the concert celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States with music by American composers. The repertoire includes:"Fascinatin' Rhythm" by George Gershwin, "Dances in the Canebrakes" by Florence Price, and more! This concert is free and open to the public.

Dr. Kathy Siesel Dr. Siesel started her journey with KSUCPM as a 1989 graduate of the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine (OCPM). Subsequent residency and fellowship programs with OCPM and the Cleveland Foot & Ankle Clinic (CFAC) lead her to the start of her career as a part-time clinical faculty member in 1991.
