Join fellow Golden Flashes families for a festive Breakfast Tailgate. 8 a.m.-9 a.m. is exclusive for current students and their families to enjoy the music, food, and photo opportunities in Eastway. Enjoy a delicious breakfast, connect with other families, show off your 麻豆精选spirit, and get energized before cheering on the Flashes or enjoying the weekend. It's the perfect opportunity to make memories, celebrate your student, and kick off an exciting day on campus.

 

Aeronautics & Engineering Expo | 麻豆精选Airport | 4020 Kent Rd., Stow | 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

This family friendly event has been a fixture in the Stow/Kent community for more than two decades and we are thrilled to bring this event back and showcase our Airport and FedEx Aeronautics Academic Center to the entire community. The Expo provides a unique opportunity to explore the 麻豆精选Airport and offers one-of-a-kind activities for both the young and young at heart. 麻豆精选 Museum | 515 Hilltop Drive Kent | 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

The 麻豆精选 Museum is a hidden gem where students and families can explore fashion, culture, and creativity through a world-class collection spanning more than 250 years. As part of America鈥檚 250th anniversary, visitors can experience Quilts and Coverlets: Art for the American Home, featuring the rare Keckley quilt attributed to Elizabeth Keckley, dressmaker to First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln, alongside the student-curated exhibition Chintz: From Forbidden Fabric to Luxury Interiors. 

 

Flashes About Town Scavenger Hunt | Various Downtown Locations | 1 - 7 p.m.

Flashes About Town is a fun scavenger hunt that helps 麻豆精选families explore downtown Kent and connect with local businesses and community partners. Whether you're looking for places to eat, shop or celebrate special milestones, this event offers a great introduction to the many amenities and experiences available in Kent. Follow clues to discover local businesses, learn fun facts about the community, and uncover special offers along the way. Participating locations may feature giveaways, discounts, promotional items and other family-friendly incentives. Join us for an engaging adventure that strengthens your connection to both 麻豆精选and the Kent community!

 

麻豆精选 vs. Ball State | Dix Stadium | Time TBA  

Don鈥檛 miss out on the opportunity to cheer on the Golden Flashes as they take on the Cardinals from Ball State University. The game start time will be announced soon! Families registered for the weekend can purchase tickets for a discounted price of $15. Student tickets are free of charge. Giveaway: 1,000 Jersey Coolers.

Wear your Parents and Families Weekend t-shirt to the game or find game-day wear in the athletic stores located in the MACC or Dix Stadium. 

 

May 4 Visitors Center | Reflections Gallery, 147 Taylor Hall | 1 - 5 p.m. 

The Visitors Center, located in Taylor Hall, contains a permanent exhibition of the student anti-war movement, historic artifacts, and film about the events of May 4, 1970 featuring interviews with some of the participants and students who were wounded on that day. 

Outside the May 4 Visitors Center, guests may take a self-guided tour of the 18-acre site, recently designated as a National Historic Landmark. The experience is powerful and immersive while providing context and multiple perspectives on the May 4 tragedy. 

 

A Taste of Sciences and Humanities | Bowman Hall | 1 - 3 p.m.

As part of Parents and Families Appreciation Weekend, A Taste of Sciences and Humanities invites all students, parents, families, and supporters to explore the many opportunities available within the College of Sciences and Humanities.  The event offers a welcoming and engaging atmosphere where all families can discover academic pathways, ask questions, and learn more about the resources that support student success.

In addition to exploring academic opportunities, guests can enjoy interactive games, free swag, popcorn, snacks, and Handel鈥檚 Ice Cream.

 

Parents and Families Paint Night | 306 Kent Student Center | 1 - 3 p.m. | *$40.00 per person 

A fun and creative opportunity awaits as participants design and paint their own custom doormat. With guided instruction and plenty of room for personalization, this experience offers a memorable keepsake to take home. Pre-registration is required (embed link to a la carte page), and guests of all ages are welcome. Open to the first 150 guests.

The Big Flash Event | 218 Kent Student Center | 6 - 8 p.m.

Get ready to light up the night at The Big Flash Event, an electrifying glow-party experience for students, parents and families. Enjoy an evening filled with excitement, friendly competition, and 麻豆精选spirit. Guests can challenge one another in laser tag, test their skills on the glow mini golf course, create colorful masterpieces on the Giant Lite-Brite wall, and capture unforgettable memories in the immersive photo booth.

The fun doesn't stop there. Attendees can treat themselves to refreshing lemonade, delicious funnel cakes, and other surprises throughout the evening.

Curious about life in Eastway? Join us for the Eastway Experience, a special session designed for students enrolled in the Eastway Experience and their families. Attendees will gain an inside look into the residential experience, including meal plans, dining options and how meal swipes work. Attendees will also learn about residence hall resources, student leadership opportunities such as becoming a Resident Assistant (RA), and the many ways students can get involved and thrive on campus. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, connect with staff and better understand your student's living experience at Kent State. Students will also receive a swag bag at the event!

 

Pizza and Havdalah | Cohn Jewish Student Center | 6:15 - 8:45 p.m.

End Parents Weekend with homemade pizzas in our sukkah. As we welcome the end of Shabbat and the end of the weekend, stay for a short Havdalah program.
