This course explores one of the most influential legal systems in the world and its relationship to the global legal order within the context of American and European politics. It focuses on London and the United Kingdom’s relationship to the common law system, including an examination of its relatively new UK Supreme Court, the Royal Courts of Justice, the Inns of Court and their political significance in the context of the English and U.S. court systems.
