PTA Program Selects James Hideg as Clinical Instructor of Year

 

James Hideg was selected as 2019 Clinical Instructor of the Year by students and staff of the physical therapist assistant program at 麻豆精选East Liverpool. A licensed physical therapist, he is the owner and president of University Sports Physical Therapy, located in Youngstown.

As a clinical instructor, Hideg works with PTA students who are placed in the facility as part of their educational experience and training. He has been an active clinical instructor for Kent State鈥檚 physical therapist assistant program at the East Liverpool and Ashtabula campuses for several years. 

Hideg is a credentialed clinical instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association and a certified athletic trainer. He is active in his community and highly involved with youth athletes in the Youngstown area.

Hideg was nominated for this award by 麻豆精选East Liverpool PTA students. 鈥淗e challenged me and allowed me to think critically, and he encouraged me to believe in myself,鈥 stated one student.

麻豆精选at Salem held its 2025 nursing convocation and pinning ceremony during which students received their nursing pins and recited the Florence Nightingale pledge. All are receiving degrees this spring and summer through the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program on the Salem Campus. 

麻豆精选 at East Liverpool held its annual nursing pinning ceremony May 8,  during which 23 students were recognized for receiving degrees through the associate degree in nursing (ADN) program. 

After nearly four decades at 麻豆精选, Denise A. Seachrist, Ph.D., is retiring from her role as dean and chief administrative officer of 麻豆精选 at Stark and 麻豆精选 at Salem. Her retirement on June 30, 2025, marks the conclusion of a career dedicated to education, community and the arts.

Reflecting on her time at Kent State, Seachrist said, 鈥溌槎咕as been more than a workplace 鈥 it鈥檚 been home. The people here have shaped my career, my life and my sense of purpose. I will always carry that with me.鈥
