RJ Mitte played Walt, Jr., the son of the cancer-stricken science teacher-turned-drug manufacturer, on the Emmy-winning AMC drama Breaking Bad.

Mitte will be the second speaker of the 26th season of 麻豆精选 at Stark鈥檚 Featured Speakers Series on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m., at the Conference Center.

All Featured Speakers Series programs are free and open to the public; however, tickets are required. Tickets are now available at the Main Hall Information Desk on the 麻豆精选Stark campus.

An actor and activist, Mitte advocates internationally for raising awareness about bullying and of equality and diversity, particularly for the disabled, in their chosen careers. Mitte鈥檚 talk, 鈥淥vercoming Adversity: Turning a Disadvantage to an Advantage,鈥 will be based on how he overcame his own disability to become a successful actor and model.

Like his character on Breaking Bad, Mitte has cerebral palsy, although his is a milder form of the disease. Beyond his acting, Mitte is involved with several organizations that raise awareness of these issues. He is the Youth Spokesperson for the National Disability Institute鈥檚 Real Economic Impact Tour, which works to improve the financial situation of low-income persons with disabilities. Currently, he is working with the PACER鈥檚 National Center for Bullying Prevention on a nationwide campaign designed to educate those who witness bullying, leveraging peer-to-peer support. The PACER Center, based in Minneapolis, Minn., is a parent training and information center for families of children and youth with all disabilities from birth to young adults.

Computer Design, Animation & Game Design Program Expands on Campus

Collaboration is anything but virtual between the campuses of 麻豆精选 at Stark and Tuscarawas. In fact, the computer design, animation and game design (CDAGD) partnership has been a reality for nearly a decade. Auditions Announced for Theatre's Consider the Oyster on September 6 & 7

Auditions Open to Students and Community Members The 麻豆精选 at Stark Theatre has announced open auditions for the first theatrical production of the season, Consider the Oyster by David MacGregor, and directed by 麻豆精选Stark Associate Professor of Theatre and Theatre Director Brian Newberg. Austin Trzop is in Cincinnati to complete in the 37th . Trzop is a business and entrepreneurship major at 麻豆精选 at Stark. Shortly after joining the Marines, Trzop became a paraplegic from a diving accident. Trzop will compete in a variety of events including the air rifle and weightlifting. The National Veteran Wheelchair Games take place July 17-22.

Human Resource Symposium Offers HR Pros the Latest in Dealing with an Ever-Changing Workforce

As the business world continues to grow more dynamic and complex, so does the role of the human resource professional. Stark Conference Center to Cease Event Rentals this Fall

麻豆精选 at Stark recognizes that the Conference Center has been a valued community resource for many years. However, in a time of tightening budgets and limited state funding for higher education, the campus can no longer absorb the large costs associated with keeping the facility open.

To ensure continued focus on its core mission 鈥 providing high-quality, student-centered education 鈥 the campus will end external event rentals at the Stark Conference Center after Sept. 30, 2025.

James Hannon Serving as Interim Dean for Salem and Stark Campuses

James C. Hannon, Ph.D., began his appointment as interim dean and chief administrative officer of 麻豆精选Salem and 麻豆精选Stark on July 1. 鈥淚鈥檓 truly excited to begin this new chapter alongside everyone at the Salem and Stark campuses. I鈥檓 quickly learning that these are warm, dedicated and passionate communities and I feel incredibly fortunate to be joining them,鈥 he said.
