When Lillian Glaze, a junior visual communication design major, opened the 鈥淲NBA Launch鈥 email, she immediately realized the assignment was much bigger than she expected. She would be the technical director for the Women鈥檚 National Basketball Association (WNBA) brand reveal at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, helping bring the city鈥檚 newest professional sports team to life for thousands of viewers.

Taking Their Stories From Concept to ComicCon

Last summer, 12 麻豆精选students in the university's Visual Communication Design program worked with Route Eight Studios to learn about the real-world challenges artists face in creating comic books. "Flash Fiction" is the result - an anthology of stories written and illustrated by students creators.

Pulp Juice and Smoothie Bar Rebrand

Since 2005, Pulp has served up delicious smoothies from Kent, Ohio, to over 50 locations nationwide. VCD senior Alex Miller, '25, gave the brand a complete overhaul with a new visual identity to create a cohesive brand experience. His mural reflects Pulp's vibrant energy and fresh ingredients.

WW2 Style Propaganda Poster - Hurricane Dogs

Students in Comm 42000 - Media, War and Propaganda were assigned to design a poster in the style of the propaganda posters of the Second World War, but with a modern twist. Sara House chose to do her poster on dogs that were displaced and abandoned when Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans in 2005.
