The annual Spring Faculty Dance Concert and Student Dance Festival, presented the �鶹��ѡSchool of Theatre and Dance is a highlight of the Spring Semester.

�鶹��ѡ Honors College senior Kendra Dillon is wrapping up her undergraduate career with an impressive list of achievements, research contributions and future plans that have garnered attention well beyond campus.

A �鶹��ѡfraternity presented its annual car smash in early May to help students de-stress while raising money for cancer research. 

What began as a senior capstone project for aerospace engineering students at �鶹��ѡ has grown into a full-fledged student organization preparing to take flight in a national competition.

�鶹��ѡ observes Memorial Day on May 26. No classes are scheduled on the holiday, and university offices are closed.

For all of her exemplary work, Theresa Yogi was recently awarded Kent State’s Distinguished Advising Award by University Advising and the Kent Academic Advising Support and Advising Association. Of her 13-year career, Yogi has spent seven-and-a-half years at Kent State’s Honors College.

A star-studded lineup of scientists returned to �鶹��ѡ April 25-26 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Advanced Materials and Liquid Crystal Institute.

Sarah Spinner Liska, director of the �鶹��ѡ Museum, has been honored with the inaugural Artist Empowerment Award from Summit ArtSpace, recognizing her outstanding work in expanding access to the arts and championing inclusive creative spaces.

When Jayrelis Capeles walked across the stage at �鶹��ѡ this spring, she was already brimming with emotion. She had just earned not one, but two degrees — in psychology and sociology — and was celebrating the end of her college journey that began in 2021. But the most unforgettable moment wasn’t the walk or the tassel turn.

The roster of these current and former faculty assembled for Kent State's silver anniversary reads like the legend on a campus map, as so many in the 1935 photo had university buildings named for them. 

Thanks to a collaboration between Peg’s Foundation & Gallery, Scabal and �鶹��ѡ’s School of Fashion, Peg’s Foundation & Gallery will become the epicenter of international art, fashion and innovation this summer with the U.S. premiere of “Dalí Beyond Time: Fashioning the Future.” The groundbreaking exhibit will bring 12 Salvador Dalí paintings commissioned for Scabal to Hudson, Ohio – and to American soil – for the very first time.

Muna Koirala’s first year at �鶹��ѡ was an exercise in academic anxiety, and she’s willing to share her story in hopes that her struggles will help other students overcome their own.

In May, �鶹��ѡ observes two historic institutional anniversaries, the first is of their founding as a school and the second is of the college being established as a university. 

In April, Kent State’s Earth Fest was part of a full month of events and activities celebrating Earth Day and Earth Month.
